Rosa Brings Significant Cloud and Channel Experience to Actifio’s Expanding Channel Partner Program
WALTHAM, Mass., Mar 05, 2012 — Actifio(TM), the Protection and Availability Storage (PAS) platform company, today announced that Russell Rosa, a former executive at Cisco and VCE has joined as vice president of worldwide channels. Rosa’s expertise in virtualization, storage and channel management will be a strong asset to Actifio as it advances its Channel Partner Program and cloud strategy, which was recently expanded by a partnership with IBM.
Before joining Actifio, Rosa served as vice president of the Americas channel at VCE, the Virtual Environment Computing Company, where he helped launch a formal channel program and rapidly expanded the company’s channel presence. Prior to VCE, Rosa served at Cisco as a director for six years and in various leadership roles for 10 years where his in-the-trenches sales skills helped establish Cisco as a channel force.
“Channel partners have been critical to Actifio’s growth since the beginning,” said Ash Ashutosh, CEO, Actifio. “With more than 100 partners worldwide, and growing rapidly, actively helping users address data explosion challenges — including big data — we needed a strong, proven leader on the team. Russell’s deep history in virtualization, storage and the fast-growing cloud computing market is a huge advantage, and his knowledge in this area will bring PAS to the channel even more rapidly.”
Actifio PAS optimizes the management of copies of production data, eliminating redundant silos of IT infrastructure and data management applications. By introducing virtualization into data management, Actifio delivers an application-centric, SLA-driven solution to decouple the management of data from storage, network and server infrastructure, reducing costs by 10X. Actifio is being rapidly deployed to eliminate backup software in both VMware and physical environments, and by service providers to deliver the industry’s most efficient data management cloud services from a single platform.
“Being part of a company that is committed to channel partners, already considered a ‘Hot Emerging Vendor,’ and recently inked a strategic partnership with IBM to deliver cloud data management solutions is very exciting for me both personally and professionally,” said Rosa. “Actifio is truly revolutionizing data management and I look forward to bringing the benefits of PAS to companies around the world by building strong relationships and enabling our channel partners.”
