Lighthouse Leverages Actifio’s Protection and Availability Storage (PAS) Platform Integrated with IBM Hardware to Deliver on the Economic Promise of Cloud Backup, Disaster Recovery, and Test and Development

WALTHAM, Mass. and LINCOLN, R.I. – February 28, 2012 – Actifio™, the Protection and Availability Storage (PAS) platform company, today announced that Lighthouse Computer Services will launch a new suite of cloud services based on Actifio’s PAS platform integrated with IBM hardware. The solution from Actifio and IBM enables Lighthouse to offer multiple cloud services – including instant backup, disaster recovery, and test and development – from a single virtualized platform while reducing capital expenses by up to 90 percent. Lighthouse is now able to accelerate delivery of cloud services for its clients while delivering critical data management services at a compelling price point and an attractive cost structure.

To date, service providers and Value Added Resellers (VARs) have not been able to deliver on the economic promise of the cloud due to their reliance on legacy technologies and IT architectures that create silos of physical infrastructure and applications. By combining server, storage and data management virtualization technologies with a purpose-built Service Level Agreement (SLA)-driven operational model, Actifio and IBM remove the cost, operational and complexity barriers that have prevented partners from providing in-demand cloud-based storage solutions to their clients.
