Google Ramps up Partnerships for Its Storage Nearline Service

Not only did Google offer new incentives with its Cloud Storage Nearline service to tempt customers to switch from Amazon and Microsoft Azure last week, the company also beefed up its ecosystem to make it easier to change cloud platforms.
Copy data management vendor Actifio has mostly focused on selling into enterprise-level environments but now has set its sights on cloud platforms. Actifio customers will be able to add a Vault profile that lets them move an application directly into Nearline.
Actifio CEO Ash Ashutosh said it makes sense to become a Google Cloud Platform Premier Partners program because “50 percent of our business comes from these cloud service providers.”
