Firms mulling IPOs recruit CFOs with public-co. experience
August 9, 2013
As six venture-backed firms in the Boston area weigh the possibility of going public, they’ve recently brought on some firepower by hiring executives with public-company financial chops.
The half-dozen companies have raised substantial amounts of funding — another signal that a big exit is being pursued — and most have made no secret of their IPO aspirations.

Actifio: The Waltham data storage technology firm (equity funding: $107 million) on Monday announced that it has hired Peter Minihane, formerly chief financial officer of Acme Packet, as its new CFO. Minihane joined Bedford-based Acme Packet in 2008, two years after the firm went public. (Acme was acquired by Oracle in February for $2.1 billion). Actifio founder and CEO Ash Ashutosh said earlier this year that the firm may file its IPO plans as soon as 2014.
