2014 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Backup/Recovery Software
Actifio positioned as Visionary by Gartner in 2014 MQ report.
In the report, Gartner states that by 2018, 40% of organizations will augment or change their current backup applications; by 2016 20% of organizations will abandon traditional backup/recovery in favor of newer techniques; and by 2019, there will be a 50% increase in the number of large enterprises eliminating tape backup for operational recovery. Actifio believes that Copy Data Management, defined by Gartner as products that can “perform a host of functions, including backup, archiving, replication and creation of test data using a minimal number of copies,” addresses many of the frustrations with traditional backup and recovery approaches driving this change.
To meet the changing needs of the market, Actifio pioneered Copy Data Virtualization. By virtualizing data, creating a single “gold copy” available for instant access and use, Actifio frees application data from underlying infrastructure, replacing the many siloed systems you’re using today to protect and access copies of the same production data. Actifio can replace any or all the software licensing and capital intensive hardware tied up in Backup, Snapshot, Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, Development & Test Data Management, Compliance, Analytics, and other systems with a single, radically simple approach that does one thing: Make whatever data, from whenever it was created, available wherever you need it.
